Green Business Award - Best New Product

November 2008

Nu-Phalt won a prestigious Green Business Award in 2008, thanks to the infrared system's environmental benefits over traditional road repair methods. The system's ability to dramatically reduce the carbon emissions of road and pothole repairs helped Nu-Phalt win BestNew Product after a rigorous entry and shortlisting process from a judging panel of Government and environment experts.

The Nu-Phalt system uses a patented infrared heater and releases just one seventh of the CO2 of traditional road repair, independently verified by the Scottish Institute of Sustainable Technology, as well as being more cost-effective, quicker and less disruptive. The Green Business Award judging panel, which included Prof. John Chesshire OBE of the Government's Sustainable Energy Policy Advisory Board, praised Nu-Phalt's system as "a glowing example of eco-innovation", saying "rarely can environmental improvements claim such all-round benefits".
